Lisa Soda

Counsellor & Psychotherapist

There are many reasons you may be seeking counselling, but I imagine you are wanting something to change. My aim is to facilitate a relationship that provides the conditions for you to explore your challenges freely and safely.

How It Works

At its core, counselling, or talk therapy, will allow you to discuss your concerns, goals and challenges with no biases and no judgements. After a series of sessions, you will be able to target and eventually change your patterns of thought and behaviour.

Initial Assessment

We'll begin by exploring your history, background, and how you're coping with your issues.

Identify Problems

We will then determine what problems you want to focus on and what your goals are.

Initiate Changes

You'll learn to question your view of a situation and replace it with a more helpful one.

Practice Changes

You'll apply the new changes that you've learnt through therapy in your every day life.

Any Questions?

An initial assessment will help determine if counselling is right for you. Referrals to other specialist health services might be better suited for you.
This session will last for 30 minutes and provides a confidential space to explore how counselling can support you, whilst allowing you to determine if this is the right counsellor to work with.
Each session lasts 50 minutes, this is known as a therapeutic hour. This allows clients to never have an overlap with another client and keeps the session confidential/anonymous. During this time, you can talk openly about issues that might concern you, and we can then work together to identify the best method of support.
Therapy is most effective when attended on a weekly basis to establish a strong therapeutic relationship.
This depends on what you feel works best for you, for instance. Deeper psychological issues require more therapy hours. However, regular reviews are discussed throughout therapy to ensure you have the autonomy to stop at any point.
Less than 48 hours’ notice would require the full fee.
Yes, holidays and short breaks help build good self-care habits.
No, because therapy is only designed specifically for you and is confidential.
